PANEL OF THE WEEK - PROG 1829

Zombo – Planet Zombo Part 5 by Al Ewing & Henry Flint

Absolutely breath-taking stuff from Henry Flint. The two page splash of the ‘The Purple Balloon’ (read The Yellow Submarine!) is both eye catching and jaw dropping in equal measure. Flint’s ‘obsessive’ details is insanely good, and reminscent of his recent ‘hospital sketch’ which could be found in his blog;

Hospital sketch book pages

Awesome stuff indeed.

PANEL OF THE WEEK - PROG 1828

Dandridge: The Copper Conspiracy (Part 5) by Alec Worley & Warren Pleece.

Brilliant stuff from Warren Pleece and Alec Worley! Our villain ‘Max Beta’ seems to have a problem with his Betamax player which is located in his head! Where’s the damn ‘head cleaner’ when you need one eh?

PANEL OF THE WEEK, 2000AD PROG 1827

Ghostship Mathematica Part 1; by David Baillie and Inaki Miranda.

This is my favourite panel of the week. Our first shot of the Ghostship Mathematica. It’s a really atmospheric scene, beautifully rendered by Miranda’s artwork and coloured by Eva De La Cruz. And it’s also very reminscent of the famous shot from Alien (1979) where we see crew from the Nostromo approaching the derelict ship on LV-426. Awesome stuff.

MEGAZINE #334 PANEL OF THE MONTH

Insurrection III by Dan Abnett & Colin MacNeil

Breathtakingly beautiful work from MacNeil. Who could’ve thought a b&w panel depicting a man, a woman and an ape could elicit such reaction? Superb stuff.
